I answered "a ton" (that's an old one), and didn't hear anything else.

The next email said:

These are more classic riddles: jANob is "an inside job", as cyc4015 pointed out to me. O ER T O is "a painless operation", and in the above paragraph history repeats itself. I'm not sure if there's any explanation to the fact that "repeats" is spelled "reapeats".
